Château La Caussade– Sainte-Croix-du-Mont 375ml

Country of Origin: France

Chateau La Caussade Sainte Croix du Mont is a little appellation lying next to Loupiac, facing Sauternes and Barsac. Château La Caussade overlooks the Garonne at Sainte Croix du Mont, 40 kilometres south east of Bordeaux. This tiny 6 hectare plot produces an elegant, rich, sweet wine with a fresh flowery taste and a delicate bouquet.

Tasting Note:

80% Semillon and 20% Sauvignon Blanc

Deep golden-yellow in hue. Citrus peel and honey aromas, sweet but not sticky, with a slightly bitter peel finish and clean aftertaste.

The wine is a beautiful pure golden colour. The nose is loaded with saffron, dried figs, and dates. The palate is rich and viscous, tasting of sultana raisins, dried apricot, with hints of black tea and almonds. The Chateau La Caussade is great with almost any cheeses, dried fruit, roasted nuts, and desserts like cheesecake or tarts. If you don’t drink it now, it will also easily age for another 10 or 15 years, probably more.

Drinkability: Now through 2030

Body: Medium, Rich, Sweet
